Default Someone help please. Sudden oil pressure total loss

Been parked for winter season to keep the salt off my 2003 disco 2. Fired up not a single knock. Less than 5 minutes in heard slight tapping looked at dash and oil dummy light was on so checked gauge and pressure gauge was zero. Usually runs about 60 psi at start up and 20 at hot but not reading anything shut motor down before any damage could be done I hope was looking forward to running it. I run 5 w 40 rotella t6 full synthetic since I've been the owner. Read on here thanks to you guys that the diesel oil has the necessary ddps that rover engines require at a fraction of the price rover oil costs. Any help would be greatly appreciated guys thanks ahead of time

Sounds like you cracked the oil pump gears unfortunately. 2 or 3 main reasons for sudden oil pressure loss on D2 engine:

1. Cracked oil pump gears. Uncommon but does happen occasionally.
2. Walked cam bearing. Less common, normally associated with overheat event
3. Spun rod bearing. Very uncommon, but I am aware of about 2-3 occurences.
