Spark plug gap
Too big a gap will make the truck stumble. And they say the coil has nothing to do with it , in the way that it sends power period, no mather if the gap is big or small, it just sends the power. Then , it's the job of the electrical discharge to jump the gap. If the truck stumbles, you need to either lower the gap, or get a more powerfull coil.
One argument on not using the split plugs and sticking with OEM is that the arms over the electrode actually sheild the arc. Anyone have a thought?(not to hijack the thread)
Unfortunitely, I cannot debate the subject, since all I have is is hearsay, and no real experience.
All I know, is that the biggest gap Rover recommends for a D2, is .042, and with less restrictive wires, I felt comfortable running my plugs at .045 with no counter effect. But it's true that I didn't venture very far!
