Default Spark Plug wire length question....

01 D2 Quick question - I know this is a bit of a long shot, but I have an arching plug wire on #6 and I need to order just that one from Magnecor. Since they are a bit of a pain to get to, I'd rather order one and then remove/replace at the same time so that my truck is not sitting for days on end waiting for the replacement wire. I called Magnecor and they need to know the length of just the wire - not counting the rubber boot/end. Just the wire itself. Mine are Magnecor's but I figure other brands would be the same. Again, it the #6 cylinder (passenger side). Can anyone help? Thanks -

I think they just want a basic length of the bad wire so they can make you a new one. Are you asking if you can just measure one of the stock ones and give them that measurement, wait for the new wire and then replace? I think that would probably be fine. As far as it sitting... I don't know if I'd drive it with that wire arcing. If it's arcing, it probably isn't firing the plug too well.

Just ask them to send the longest wire that comes in the Disco wire set and you'll be fine.
#6 has always been a common wire to fail, so a longer one will help prevent this.

Yes that's exactly what I want to do, but the wires run in back of the motor and I can't get an accurate measurement....I want to do the job all in one day and was just hoping someone knew the length of the wire so I don't have to take everything apart and let it sit. I've been driving with the arching wire for a couple months as it turns out.
