Default Sport/Manual Mode

Quick question. When in maunual mode should the green {M} light be illuminated? When is sport mode the {S} lights up every time.. And when I first start the vehicle the {M}and
{S} both light up during the initial check. I am sure it switches between the two modes, just not sure if the {M} should light up.2000 Disco II 87000. Thanks

M only works while in low range.

As mentioned, if you are in low range, using the M mode allows the tranny to be shifted like a manual tranny. Sport mode is for high range and just changes the shifting points and throttle pressure so the truck is a little more responsive.
