Default Spring clip tabs are broken off my A pillar exterior black cover,....suggestions?

When I bought my current D2, It came with a broken drivers side A pillar exterior cover. The 3 plastic tabs that the spring clips grab onto near the edge of the windshield are all broken off. I have the new push pin style clips that go inside the door jamb,....under the drip rail,.....wondering if anyone else has successfully managed to securely install one of these A pillar covers when the 3 plastic tabs for the spring clips were broken off.

Anyone?

I have not tried it, and IMHO it won't hold without the 3 spring clips secured to the A pillar cover.
It looks like a DCB500070PMAG might be in your near future.

Good Luck!

I have the same issue a bead of silicone a long the windshield edge will hold it. Get under the rubber then a second bead externally, you need to use tape to hold them in place until the silicone sets up.

I have been up to 70 MPH on the freeway, and a full day bouncing down a forest service road with no issues.

It is a pretty short term fix though and I check them every time before I go somewhere.

I have 2 I pulled from a wreck to replace mine, but as I have to fix the air plenum leak the install is on hold for a couple of months.

Do you have any of the tab left ? I've used construction adhesive to adhere one of them successfully and got it to stick but there was some of the "tab" remaining
