Hello, i am most likely going to do a vinyl wrap on my '04 discovery to change it up a bit (and to cover some body damage). to order the amount of vinyl needed, i need to figure out the total painted area on a disco. before i start running around with rulers and what not might as well see if any rover experts happen to know off the top of their head the number. Thanks!
Tried figuring this one out a while back. I simplified the body by making it one block (see picture below). The block cuts off the upper cabin, but you can visualize it by just imagining the roof of the car drops down to where the top of this red box is. Obviously, the are where the wheel wells are wont be used, so consider that extra sq.ft. that you can use for practice or for reserves. In the diagram you can estimate B=77in H=174in J=30in and just take the area of a cube that size, ignore bottom face underneath car. That should give you ROUGHLY the square footage to be 197. I would add an extra 25% to be safe.

i may do a splinter camouflage wrap on it, the stock color is vienna green, i figure keep it on for a few months to a year to put away cash to fix the body damage.
What's the body damage look like? If you're just worried about protecting what's left then there's no need to worry about it because the body panels are aluminum. No rust. If you're doing it for looks, I like the green/white/gray camo the best personally.
