Default Squeking brakes

I bought a 1998 Disco about 6 weeks ago. She is in excellent shape with 101,000 miles on her. When I gently hold the brakes or when you are almost to a stop te brakes squel. I took it to a mechanic who pulled the wheels and we looked at the brakes. The pads look almost new and nothing looks out of order. What could be causing this? It drives me crazy.

Thanks

Default RE: Squeking brakes

Sounds like someone put some cheap pads on your truck and or didn't use any sound deadening material. There is also a chance that the rotors are glazed up and should be cleaned with brake cleaner and a good sanding.
