Default Start up question

Will the SAI motor kick in at initial start up in the morning if it is NOT cold outside?
I haven't heard mine in a while.
Thanks,
JEF

Be happy you haven't heard it, most are sick of hearing it.
The ECU determines when to turn it on.

Yes it will come on when the engine temp is below "X", it is a emissions device, it speeds up the heating up of the cats to reduce vehicle emissions.
So yes, even if it is 100*F outside and the truck has sat all night it will come on.

Thanks for the info Mike and Spike. Is there a possible problem with it not coming on?? Could it cause a problem down the line?
Thanks,
JEF

I think I would not worry about it, no fault codes no problems right?
Just like hockey, no blood no foul.
