Starting issue (electrical) with 04 D2
Replaced the fuel pump on my 04 D2 and truck ran great for about 1 week. I was closing my sun roof as I was cranking the engine one day and there was this "noise" from under the hood (bonnet) or dash so I stopped the start.
Have not been able now to start the truck since. Have a good spark at the plugs. All fuses and relays for fuel pump are good. Inertia switch is in. New pump runs fine when jumped with 12V battery. Voltage at the pump is 5 to 7 volts with ignition off (go figure). In key switch position II still 5 to 7 volts . Then 10 to 11 volts when cranking but still will not start.
So why do I have voltage at the pump with key off and pump relay open (no power). A wiring diagram would definitely help. Anyone seen this before.
I know....don't close your sunroof when cranking.....no more multi-tasking!
