Default starting with new engine block?

Just did heads and gaskets on my 03 disco 2 4.6 and still have a coolant leak, I didn't know to check for a slipped liner. Had it checked after I did the heads at a good LR mechanic because it still had a misfire. The mechanic originally thought it was a misfire due to a bad injector that leaked (I was happy!), but now thinks it's a slipped liner. I'm having very little luck finding a replacement engine.

Has anyone gotten a new stripped block and swapped all the old enging parts over to it? How difficult a job is it? A new block is about $500 compared to $3000+ for the engines I've been finding-

The old engine only had 55k on it, would I be good using all the old parts with new gaskets? How difficult a job compared to the heads?

thanks!

You are sure jumping into a new engine with out verify the actual cause of the misfire. What are the exact fault code numbers, who's plug and wires are you using and are you loosing any coolant or is there and coolant in the crank case????????????????????
