Default steering pump

I replace my pump last year and I get some groaning from time to time. I didn't bleed anything.....just filled the reservoir and turned the wheel back and forth a few times. is there some bleeding required?

I recently replaced my pump with a new assembly. What I did once I got everything back together was as follows: filled power steering reservoir with fresh PS fluid until full, leave the cap off then go start the truck and wait about a minute then play with the steering wheel by turning it in full swing in both directions, then turn off.

This how do video helped me alot:

open bleed valve as you are turning. close it as you near full lock. do the same thing while turning the other direction. do this a few times.

think of it like brakes, except you turning the wheel as opposed to pushing the pedal

it's doable as a 1 person job with some extensions and swivels and steering through the window, but if you can get someone to turn the wheel
