I have a 2001 LR disco II, RPMS drop really low, once and a while the rpms will drop and engine lite turns on and engine shuts off.It starts right up w/out any probs. No engine codes at all. so far I replaced the mass air flow sencor, tps, ideal air, and crank censor.I gave in and took it to LR dealer, they hooked it up on the computer and it showed no codes. They sugested it may be the fuel pump, But I doubt it as this has been going on for about two months,She only does this while she is at a stop, she runs just fine at speed.

Any more sugestions would be a huge help. Thank you for looking.

Mike, I'd like to hear what you think it is as well...

My car also stalls (at times) when I get to a traffic light, rpms drop and engine shuts off - starts up fine, but just seems to die. Also, and more frequently, when I stop to park my car, I shift into reverse to park, about to back up, and stalls. This is probably more common than about.

I read a few posts about fuel pressure regulators, and MAP sensors. Any advice? This is my only 'recent' problem my car is a lemon! 2003 Discovery, 98,000 miles and 2 yrs ago replace engine (with used engine) and transmission (used transmission). Still feels like it's dying!

I'm in the same boat. My truck hasn't stopped running yet, but scangauge indicates rpm's as low as 500. Not sure what's going on...
