Strange P0562 & P0340 Codes and now gone?
So went on a trail ride today with the local club up in the North Georgia mountains and trucks ran great until we stopped for lunch, when pulling to the lunch area every time I hit the brake the SES alarm would go off but no warning light on dash. Turned it off for lunch and when I tried to start to continue battery was dead (bat is new) after jumping off I let it run for about 10 min and turned it off for a few min and it started fine. Thinking the alternator was going out we left to start heading home and before we could get off the trail bam , every warning light in the dash cluster lit up and then went away, now its just the red battery light that stayed on but went off and M & S blinking lights on full time and now in limp mode with pending codes P0562 and P0340 popped up on Ultragauge. Got truck home in limp mode thinking alternator was shot but turned truck off to unload and 20 min later fired right up, no codes, no limp mode, drove fine?
Maybe ground issue? I get the P0562 low voltage to trans code because we def lost volts somewhere but the P0340 CPS code has me confused, well the whole incident has me confused really. Only thing I can guess is a lose ground, or maybe tensioner pulley, it was whining pretty loud when we left and that was a new noise before we left lol.
Anyone have similar issue or insight?

sounds like a low voltage issue.
definitely check the alternator and the battery.
check all the connections to the battery.
and then check all the grounds if the above does not solve your issues.
but to me it sounds like the alternator is not charging the battery.

I got those same codes when I was cranking extendedly on a low battery. Charge your bsttery, check your alternator, that connector at the voltage regualtor on the alternator is on the delicate side and I did manage to break it on my D2.
Thanks for the reply,
I checked battery, alternator and ground connections and they were all good and tight. I did take some readings of battery and alternator with multimeter and here are the readings below;
battery engine off 12.67
engine running no load 13.58-13.74
engine running with lights radio and front and rear ac full 11.81-11.91
alternator reading with full load 11.36-11.37
I believe alternator is giving up the goods!

here is a rebuild kit for our alternators that i have used for several of mine.
that's what it looks like.
