Stripped Lug Nut Thread

Get the other four off first. If it's the nut, then you should be able to apply pressure to the wheel and get the nut to slide off. If it's the stud, try using a wrench on the nut and apply outward pressure as you turn the lug nut off. Maybe you can get the stud to bite this way. Good luck.

- the threads of the lug nut have stripped
- the threads of the wheel stud have stripped,
- the "teeth" of the stud where it is pressed in have stripped, and/or
- the hole where the stud is pressed into has stripped.
I didn't get the impression that the outside of the lug nut was stripped.

My interpretation of the problem is that either:
- the threads of the lug nut have stripped
- the threads of the wheel stud have stripped,
- the "teeth" of the stud where it is pressed in have stripped, and/or
- the hole where the stud is pressed into has stripped.
I didn't get the impression that the outside of the lug nut was stripped.

- The S*@#!! cap on the lug has stripped and is turning without actually turning the lug itself.
Resolution is the same as above, beat a slightly smaller socket on to the lug and proceed with removal...
