Stuck going in Reverse only
Without going too much into everything i’ve done to get my D2 running, I stalled out after the M and S and the Drive lights started flashing, and since then it only goes in reverse. The battery is just over a year old, I just replaced the XYZ switch, but I noticed something. The negative ground wire from the battery isn’t bolted to anything. Would this cause that problem? If so, I have some serious words to explete.

I would verify that your XYZ switch is rotated correctly too. You may need to turn it some so it registers the gears correctly. It's really a 2 person job.

I got the XYZ Switch on right, because it still just goes in reverse. I grounded the negative wire as well, but it still will only go in reverse, and throws the P1590 and P0500 codes. But I noticed that the battery won’t give me more than 12 volts in idle. Even after trickle charging. Still getting the flashing M and S and Drive lights. And when I step on the brake, the cluster panel light flickers. I’m not sure where to go from here.

If your battery show 2 volts you have 1 of 2 problems your battery is no good or your alternator is no good.
To test :
To test :
- Take a multimeter
- set to Dc volts and the 1st voltage range above 12 usually 20
- Check your battery, by putting multimeter on the positive and neg terminals before starting the Disco it should be 12.5 or higher
- Now start the Disco and do the same test at idle you should get between 13.0 and 13.9 closer to 13.9 is better
