Default Stuck my 99 Disco II (how?)

I drove into a large snowbank and managed to get my Rover stuck. ~3ft of snow and should have gone through but passenger rear tire spun like mad. In previous off-roading (deeeep mud) never had that happen before. I don't think this is normal, so anyone have any ideas?

Cheers!

if you already tried locking the diff. in the transfer case, id say a buddy's truck and some tow straps.

indeed. also, try getting a shovel and shoveling out underneath if you are high centered. Or, get some psp s, or in a more ghetto solution, a piece of plywood or something and put it under the spinning tire to try to get some traction.

The problem is, once you are stuck it is hard to engage the diff lock normally.
