Stuck in Northern Canada and need help trouble shooting!
Thanks for all your help. I'm running out of time and am looking at getting this thing hauled out of here. I'll probably pay more for the tow than the vehicle is worth.
But before I do that, I'm going to see what the fuel pump is doing. Now I'm trying to figure out how that trim holding the carpet comes out. I'd like to not damage it, but I'm getting desperate on time. Does it just pop off?
First, I will shoot a squirt of starting fluid in the air box to make sure it runs. Then I'll pop the fuel pump hatch and see if its getting power.

From the video i made a few posts back… It's the Idle Air Control valve that is making the high pitched noise and vibrating. If this thing was stuck open or closed, would it make my engine not start?
I would think that it would start, but run rough.
Same question for the Fuel Purge Valve. If it was bad, would it stop the engine from running? ***EDIT**** I think google helped me answer this one. No it should not stop the engine from running. It's emissions stuff.

That's what I've gathered after a bit of research here. Thanks.
I'm waiting for some starter fluid. I will squirt some in the air box while cranking and see if it runs. If it does, this would indicate fuel.

I've pressed the inertia switch button down. Is there another way to check it? Would the engine still crank with the inertia switch malfunctioning? Can I bypass it?
I will search the forums for these answers, but if you know please speak up.

I've seen hints of the inertial switch plug underneath the engine compartment fuse box coming loose in the forums. I was on the phone with Vern from TRS Automotive this afternoon and he mentioned that if it is not a fuel problem (determined by starter fluid sprayed in the air intake) that he has seen something with the fuse box. He did not elaborate.
Anyone know about bypassing the inertial switch or it's plug underneath the fuse box?
I read a line in a land rover forum somewhere today that gave me hope… it was something like "don't give up, it's only a machine"… So I'm not giving up. Looks like I might rent a truck in the meantime. I should be here two more weeks. So I'm confident that this truck will drive out of here.
Thanks again to everyone for the support.

Success!
By following the advice on this forum and simple reasoning I was able to locate the unplugged connector under the fuse box in the engine compartment for the inertia switch. I plugged it back in and now the vehicle starts right up. Cost of repair - $0.00, plus about four hours of my time chasing ghosts. Now I just have to fix the oil leaks before I get fined by the DEC. Thanks to all who offered assistance.
