If it's in too bad of shape to reuse, the cheapest place for a new throttle body heater kit is rockauto. It's like $16 if I recall correctly.

if you order the kit from AB it comes with exhaust manifold gaskets and a new throttle body heater plate and gasket. I did not need exhaust studs, nuts or collector gaskets as I unbolted the heads from the exhaust manifolds and left the in place, just supported them with bungy cords

If you buy the head gasket "kit" as opposed to just buying head gaskets.

The kit also comes with a bunch of other stuff you're not likely to need, but you'll be paying for anyway (valve guide seals, etc.).

yah, why replace the valve guide seal while the heads are off. You can do them another time, much easier to do when the engine is back in place.

Just because your heads are off doesn't mean you have to do a full valve job.

If you want to give the machine shop an extra couple hundred bucks for something that is already in working condition, that's for your own peace of mind. But it's certainly not always necessary and to suggest otherwise is pretty naive.

no one said you have to do a complete valve job to replace valve seal, were not talking guides were talking valve guide seals. There are thousands of engines out there that have had valve guide seals replaced to keep them from pushing oil without doing a complete valve job. Now tell me how Porsche and Audi do it.
