In my '99 BMW, I took the sunroof out and replaced it with a CF panel. This decreases the roll center (75 lbs to 2.5 lbs), stopped sunroof drain issues which leaked into the car. And, I know a guy who is an engineer, and makes CF parts. I purchased a floor pan for my race car from him. Costly, but really worth it (BMW equivalent costs 5x more).
Serious question, my DII sunroof is leaking, and I am over it. I want my buddy to build a CF blank, to replace the sunroofs. Anyone else looking for this before I go and have one offs made???
e46 sunroof delete e46 floor pan with 250lbs+ on it closer up of my buddies work....
I think this is a good idea, but would it be more cost effective to go to an automotive glass center and have them put in a piece of glass that is stationary?
I’ve thought about replacing my rear sun roof with a tinted window, and enlarging it. Essentially a panaramic roof. I rarely open that those and the rear has not opened for years.

I've not seen a glass panel done before, probably because of a lack of overlap with the glass and the roof. I've got rust bubbles on the passenger side near the windscreen, so will probably go another route. The design and tooling for a one off would be cost prohibitive.
