Suspension day - 3rd question
I checked them out - looks like there is lot of stuff for the Disco. I'll have to call Jason and ask about the D1 perch tower set-up
the reason we went with the D1 perch tower was to physically raise the overall height of the rear after changing out the max heavy duty springs. to the base load capacity OME springs. If I had not changed the perch towers the physical roof line height would have appeared to have been lower in the back from the front or at the least the same. If you look at most discos the rear is slightly higher in the back. this is purely aesthetic. It has no real advantage with regards to the performance of the suspension. The difference between the 2 perch towers was approximately 3/8 of an inch.
Hope that helps...
Oh and sorry i should have given more info about who jason is. And yes he is a wizzard of knowledge with pieces parts and just a a good guy who like us loves our trucks....

Maybe I should give more detail....
So my OME 2" lift is set up as follows.
the front is the heavy duty 763 as I have the ARB safari with winch basket( to be filled this fall) originally I had the same 763 springs in the rear. as I had thought I would be doing more heavy offroading with heavy loads of gear. Alas I was wrong. Jason and I agreed that I was more than likely not even getting the base compression needed to allow the shocks to come into play. The 763 springs need a min of 250 additional lb's to begin compression to allow the shocks to dampen but really need closer to 400-450 over factory load. needless to say I was not doing this at all. I thought about just dropping to the 762's but he recomended that even that would have been a wee bit much as I have gotten myself to the point where my average cargo load is under 200 lbs. So I went standard OME 761. These however are approx. 3/8in lower than the 763. so in order to maintain the aesthetic that I had with the 763 in the rear we went with the D1 perch towers which sit higher than the D2 towers in the rear allowing me to maintain same physical height.
hope this makes sense..
