i think I’m going to check impedance of the new connections and see if that gives me any clues. It’s just strange that this worked for months and now it won’t.

Finally solved...it was the weak ground. The Option B method using the AC-screw ground is not reliable unless you sand down the metal on all surfaces. The stock screw in my 2002 has a black finish and was a poor conductor. Sheesh....how embarrassing!

Yep I clean that ground and use a new bolt honestly. Or use a different spot altogether. Glad u figured it out. I figured it was ground related
