Default Sway Bar Disconnect

I am looking to buy a sway bar disconnect on my 02 Disco which has stock suspension. Is it unnecessary to buy one? If it is necessary, would it be dangerous to still disconnect it while offroading?

Since you have stock suspension I wouldn't worry about getting them. If you need to replace them, go with the Meyle HD links.
From what I've read the reason for disconnecting them is for more articulation when off-roading.
Some people have them totally removed on front or rear (can't remember) for regular driving.

So is there a way to disconnect it when offroading?

I removed both sway bars... permanently.

Sure you could disconnect them, but it would be a pain in the ***. Expeditionexchange sells SlickRockFab sway bar disconnects to replace the front, making it easy to connect and disconnect them. I would definitely just delete the rear sway, and either delete the front sway too, or do a SlickRockFab disconnect, depending on your preferences

On the front, you can unbolt the links and cinch the bar up out of the way, then reattach when you're back on the road. This would be a better option though...

Better/Faster

I think some have said that you can completely remove the rear sway bar with no noticeable difference on the road, but I may be wrong.

Thank you for the response, where is the rear sway bar located? I have been trying to find it for a few minutes and I haven't been able to.
