It's not horrible, but it's enough that I've had a stranger at a gas station knock on my window to let me know it smells like I'm burning oil

for cleaning I use a product offered by Gunk. its a spray on stuff like brake cleaner. I just do that and some rag wiping. wouldn't go the hose route, though.
