Default System functionality w/ 3 Amigos

When the 3 Amigos are illuminated are those systems totally off line? I recall reading that the ABS might function depending on the failure mode. Ultimately what I want to know is this: if one of my wheels looses traction will any systems intervene or will all of the torque flow through the open differentials to that wheel?

All torque will go to wheel with least traction

This was my understanding as well, but another person mentioned having no problem when they were off roading and their 3 amigos lights had been on for quite some time. Is it possible the lights come on when a fault is detected but then if the fault goes away system functionality comes back but the lights stay on as a “sticky fault?”

No TC, no HDC, and I'm not really sure the ABS kicks in at all. Pull the codes and fix the amigos and enjoy a fully operational system IMHO. Option B, and new sensors normally fixes the 3 Amigo's for good. HDC off road is very handy and so is the TC.

I agree with Best4x4. A while back I was off roading and the 3 amigos came on. I didnt have TC or HDC. Later I replaced one abs sensor and did option B. No 3 amigos since then.

I’m planning on fixing it before I put it in any position where it would be a big problem. Scanning the codes is my first priority, last time I took my other car to autozone the let me use what looked like a nice code reader so I’m going to try my luck there first to see if it will also pull ABS codes, if not I’ve got one in my amazon cart ready to pull the trigger on, but if I can save a $100 all the better (I already have a regular code scanner).
