Default T Case....

Changed my diffs and Tcase fluids today. Diffs where fine but the plug on the T case was full of big metal filings and some chunks of metal. Wondering what my options are. Found an 04 T case on Ebay for $300. has the cdl, just wondering if thats a real pita to install and then would I have to get a kit to install a lever into my interior? Or just go with a rebuild?

Or in the mean time run 85W140 syn gear lube while you evaluate your options. T Case plug is magnetic to keep trash from floating around and reduce damage.

Ya good idea. then I'll just keep an eye out for a good replacement T case and hopefully it'll last a while longer. Thanks dude.

I've not seen a tbox fail under normal conditions in my 20 yrs w land rover
product. they should outlast the truck.. Drive it and don't worry about it.

Not to discredit you, but you haven't been looking in all the right areas, they do fail, even as daily drivers much less when wheeling hard.

And from what Tom says, roll back wreckers can wreck them in less than 15 feet....

No offense taken Mike
The OP stated he changed his fluids. He didn't say he had any problems with
his tbox. No need to panic..
