Default tail lights not working

OK, thanks for your patience. I did the meter test properly this time. 12v reading on both 11 and 33 when switch was turned once to engage parking and tail lights.
I did already order a turn signal switch, used for $25. Should have it in a couple days. If you've got any other ideas while i'm waiting please chime in. Thanks for any help.

To replace the turn signal switch rotate wheel 90 degrees. But the turn signal switch does not control those tail light bulbs. It tells the BCU to flash the others. Have you checked the actual sockets for the bulbs, and the frame ground (black wire) to be sure it is good to the frame?

Default tail lights no working

I have not checked the ground but remember it is both tail lights and both front parking lights that are not working. Wouldn't that be a huge coincidence if they all went bad at one time or can one effect the others?

Well, one fuse drives one side of the truck, and the other fuse drives the other. They run through different cables to get to their destinations, and use different headers. The only thing "common" at the tail end is that both circuits also run into the trailer connector. Maybe look at the trailer connector to see if it is skinned up and shorting/grounding out, just not enough to blow the fuse. Inside right rear behind tail lamp.

Here is one more step to dovetail with Savanna's excellent advice..
I would take the same meter you have used..

Pull OUT the tail light light bulb.
Put the red or (+) in the socket where the tip at the bottom of the light would go.
That will be a small solder circle right in the middle.

Put the (-) end to a bolt or frame as before.
Then turn on the tail lights.

See if you get a 12 volt reading.
If you do then good.

That would mean you have a bad ground along the way.

Someone may have also put the wrong light bulb in there.
Or the light bulbs are bad.

You can put the meter to OHMS x10 and put the meter across the light bulb -
one lead to the side case. One lead to the tip on the bottom of the light bulb.

The meter should go to almost 0 ohms if the light bulb is good.
If bad - the meter will not MOVE.

Ok, I figured out the issue. I'm a moron, I had installed a new bumper rendering my indicator lights useless. I then re wired my indicator lights to work in the upper tail light, not even realizing that it would disable my tail lights. This past weekend I re wried everythingt basck ot normal it it all works. I had ot buy a couple little trailer turn signals that i'm not too excited about but they will do for now.
Thanks for all your help with this.

Maybe this will help you out. On my 03 Disco, I installed upper tail lights from a 99-02 model because I don't like the look of the yellow 03 lights. I used the back-up light socket to do the turn signal lights. I just installed an orange bulb in place of the clear one. I left the tail lights and brake lights alone. In your case, you would just lose your reverse lights which can easily be mounted on the bumper or a roof rack. Just an idea.
