I believe I finally tracked down a small leak in our 04 D2. I have noticed a bit of water pooled in between the rubber seal and the inside of the glass. I thought it might have been coming from the door seal where the ladder mounts are but sitting in the back during heavy rain the whole tailgate was dry except for in between the rubber seal.

It seems I can get a new seal for ~$100 but reading the RAVE I have a few questions:

1. It appears the seal is all one piece and I need to pop the glass out, fit the seal and pop it back in.
2. I need to remove the heating wires for the rear window, they appear soldered on, I assume there is another connection I can unplug someplace? (Nevermind on this one, wife just got back with and I can see where it disconnects...)
3. Has anyone replaced their rear glass before? How difficult was it?

 

I did a VW years ago. Not sure if it's the same, but this is what I did.
