Default TB Heater question.

I was just wondering if I was to bypass my throttle body heater, would I need to also block off the tb heater itself?

Nope. But if you operate where it can get close to freezing be aware that throttle can ice and stick in a fixed position.

I just went through myself last week. I bypassed it TEMPORARILY while I waited for parts but found that leaving it bypassed all the time (especially if you live where it can get cold) is a very bad idea.

I would rather spend $25 than risk going full throttle off a cliff.

It seriously take 15 minutes to change. It is 7 tiny bolts. Take off TB, replace heater, reattach TB (with new gasket of course), done.

It is not much risk in Washington DC, all that hot air inside the beltway.....

no other car freezes why would a rover? I bypassed mine when it leaked. you can just run one hose into the manifold where the other hose comes out.. and then you only need one hose

I replaced my TB heater, but I think the screws it came with were very cheap and didn't feel sturdy when i put them in, so I am seeing it leak again. I want to remove the TB and maybe pick up some better screws and get it tight again. It was great for the last 6 months and now it is leaking. Just want to know I can bypass it temporarily if needed.

run a file across the bottom of the throttle body to make sure is level, also.
