Getting ready to replace the front output shaft seal and flange. Can anyone tell me which way the seal is supposed to face? It has a smooth side with a lip, and the other side has the spring.

This is the second time I will be doing this, so rather than go by which way I installed it the first time (which was long ago), I figured I would ask the Rover brain trust.

Flat side out. The spring should be on the inside.
