Not sure how much they reduce noise or vibration, but they are super handy for leveling a crooked ride height.
This. I'm pretty sure I put them top and bottom in the rear because my front was so high with the factory rear springs.

Personally I wouldn't delete both. I tried running without the front and it was fine until I needed to make emergency maneuvers. That was frightening to say the least. Cornering on back roads would've been bad, too.
I ended up making my own disconnects. If you're interested, I did a write up you can find in the link in my signature. I think it costed me like $10.
