My D1 has been pretty reliable but has had a few problems. I bought this vehicle as a favor to someone (long story) and I never would have considered one if I had been shopping for a SUV. The only thing I really don't like about it is the shoulder room. I'm a big guy and feel cramped driving it. The longest road trip I have done with it is about 4 hours and I was way ready to get out of it. Other than that it has been a good vehicle. Every vehicle has its problems if you look at all the forums. My 2 cents.

One of the consumer magazines I read last year listed 2002as the only disco 2 year that wasn't on the vehicles to avoid list, and it's not great as you found out.

Bottom line if your priority is reliability then buy a land cruiser.
