Default thermostat

Hello all.
Any suggestions on replacing a thermostat. 96 disco.

Yup. Remove the old one and install the new one.
With the engine cold remove the upper radiator hose from the goosneck.
Unbolt the two bolts and scrap off all the old gasket material. Make sure that you mark the way the old one was facing so that you install the new one the correct way.
Install new t-stat and gasket, replace upper radiator hose, top off the coolant and check for leaks.
15 min job.
190 is the temp you want, so when you buy a new one from your favorite autoparts store that is the one you want. If it doenst list the temp then you want the high temp one.
Low temp is 160, med 180, high is 190.

I forgot to mention that when you retighten the gooseneck to tighten both sides evenly. Good and snug, not to tight, you dont want to crush the gasket.
If you use RTV or MR Gasket just make sure that read the directions.

I went to auto zone and the guy sold me a duralast 195 deg. and a tube of permatex thermostat rtv silicone. What do you think..?
