Ball joint does make more sense in my mind because it’s more of a clunk after the steering wheel is turned in that makes sense. I had mentally notes that it’s when weight was transferred from one corner of the axle to another. Didn’t do it all the time but I could get it to do it every time I moderately turn the wheel one way for 3-4 seconds and then the other way for 3-4 seconds (like a freeway interchange, roundabout, etc.

thanks for for the compliment. The truck is parked inside a Fort Knox style metal fence inside a building with the alarm set and the keys in a safe. .

Little history on it. I bought it from a guy who was living in San Antonio at the time. It had been in his family for 12 years. They summered in Montana and wintered in Texas and each time they took it to Montana they transported it in an enclosed trailer behind a RV. He literally handed me a file folder an inch thick full of receipts. Anytime the smallest thing needed to be addressed it was repaired. It just had crappy tires. I absolutely love the color. In person it is a burnt orange with a hint of metallic and it does change color a bit depending on sun/cloud/rain. I still catch myself staring at the color after 6 months. I thought a lot about a “NOT UT” personalized plate but eventually went with “H8 MUD”.
