I’ve accrued two oil pan gaskets in my disco ownership, any one better than the other? AllMakes vs URO.

 

Probably on about the same level of quality. Just use a small bead of Permatex Ultra Black gasket maker on oil pan surface, about an 1/8 inch in diameter, going around each bolt hole, and along center in between, let sit for a bit until a slight glaze appears on gasket maker (maybe 30 seconds to a minute), install gasket on oil pan, then apply gasket maker to other side of gasket, using same technique, only this time, add a bit more around rear main area where main cap meets block and where front cover meets block, just a bit more, don't go crazy, install oil pan, let set up suggested amount of time mentioned in direction on ultra black's instructions, before adding oil.

 

I got lucky and added the sealer only where the Rave manual indicated at front and back. So far leak free but time will tell. Be sure to torque in sequence as the Rave manual specifies.
