Throttle Cable Replacement and Adjustment
Hello everyone,
I recently purchased a new throttle cable for a refurbed throttle body, and I was wondering if anyone has any experience replacing the throttle cable?
I believe I remember reading a post from one of the veterans on here mentioning the importance of inspecting and upkeep of the correct throttle cable adjustment.
In addition to a member identifying the importance of cable upkeep, I believe I read something pertaining to the adjustment of the throttle cable to a spec outside of the RAVE spec. I believe the post referenced the altered spec allowing idle to run a little smoother?
maybe? Maybe not?
Thanks,
Gordon Dean

I don't recall seeing anything on this forum suggesting the throttle cable should be adjusted to anything outside the RAVE spec. (0.5mm (+/- 0.4MM) gap to the inner driven throttle body lever).
Tightening it further to keep the revs up at idle might make the engine appear to run smoother if there are other problems, but that would be masking the problem.
