Ok, I better under stand now, so what I have been saying is correct it is not 100% true.

Lower octane fuel will raise combustion temps which in turn heats the heads and valley to extremly high temps which then in turn bakes the motor oil which then causes excessive sludge build up and clogs oil passages.

Basically that is what I have been telling people for the reason that you must use premium gas as well as excessive carbon build up on the valves.

No, no, no, you were not stepping on any toes at all man, I am always open to correction/imput.
I know just enough to be dangerous and am always willing to learn more.

I am a huge promoter of premium gas, I use it in everything including my lawnmower, snowblower and chainsaw.
The only thing I do not use it in is a rental car and my work van.
in fact I wish that the US would follow suit of the rest of the world and only offer premium and diesel.
Premium burns cleaner than regular even in a regular octane car.
I think we could greatly reduce emissions just by only selling premium.
