Is it time to sell?
I reviewed my vehicle maintenance paperwork (I save everything) and see that the spark plugs have been replaced 3 times, wires once. The latest was 20k miles ago and that included the new wires. I see nothing about the O2 sensors. I swapped in a used MAF sensor and nothing changed. As Atlantic British recommends they be replace every 90k mile I am suspecting them. I just about to order a set of four ($229) when I saw an after market set for $79. Can I trust aftermarket on these or should I stick with original equipment?

Yesterday I ordered 4 O2 sensors from Atlantic British. If the weather is fine this weekend I plan to get them installed. After looking at the sensors on my Disco it is obvious they are quite old. I'll cross my fingers that this will make a huge improvement.
Any LR shop that doesn’t work on a D2 anymore = STUPID IMHO. A D2 vs an LR3 is a breeze to troubleshoot. I think mechanics are just getting way to comfy looking at a scantool print out and replacing parts/assemblies vs doing any actual good old fashioned work.
I’ve taken at least 4 beat up assumed dead D2’s headed for the salvage yard (LR Heaven) and with just very basic diagnostics got them all running & driving with very little $$$ invested.

I think the dealer was saying they no longer stock major parts for the Disco. they said because it was 10 years ago that the last Disco was made LR was not required to support it. I don't know. In the past it has been hit or miss when dealing with a non LR shop. That's why I've tried to stay with a dealer as much as possible. As much as fixing this is a pain I am leaning a lot. I wish I had a dedicated space to park the Disco and work on it. Even if the O2 sensors don't do the trick at least I will know I didn't give up too easily on this vehicle. The wires are blue STI Spark Transfer International. I pulled one to look at the plug but couldn't tell the brand. My O2 sensors are supposed to arrive today. I will try to get them in.

be warned that bosch o2 sensors for these trucks seem to have a high failure rate out of the box. walker sensors (get them on amazon) have been reported to be much more reliable, as well as cheaper.
