A couple of the bolts go through the water jacket so I put PTFE thread sealant on those.

Old thread here but I am still confused in spite of OverRover's awesome documentation. I have 3 5" bolts and its not clear to me where those go?

when i did the water pumps on my both my '04's, i took a piece of cardboard and laid the new water pump on in it in so it sat laid the same way it would installed. i then traced it with a Sharpie and colored in each bolt hole.

when i removed a bolt i would push it through the appropriate water pump bolt hole in the cardboard. easy way for me to keep track of where each bolt went.
