Default Tinting Alpine windows ?

I bought my truck with no window tinting. I took it down for a quote and they said that they could not tint the alpine windows becuase it will cause them to crack, has anyone else heard of this? Any help is appreciated.

I think they're smoking crack.

Tell them you want the mirrored flame tint job and and they sing a different tune.

PS - Mine are tinted - I bought the truck used and all the windows are tinted.

Yeah, mirrored flame would go perfect with the neon orange "truck Nutz"I thought it sounded weird but you never know. Thanks for the reply.

Some places do not like to tint curved windows to do them correctly there is major work involved... You need to heat and preshape the tint from the outside then go and apply it inside ... Truthfully for the best job remove them then reinstall but you'd have to replace the gaskets

Forgot to add I owned my own autotinting business for 20 years and NEVER heard of it causing cracking

They should have a fair amount of tinting on the from the factory, how dark are you trying to make them?
As for the cracking, I have never heard of that one before.

None of my windows were tinted from the factory. The Alpines have what looks like a UV coating or something but nothing else. I just want to go about 20% to keep prying eyes out of my stuff and gear in the back. I may not tint the alpines since they will allow alot of light in, I just wanted to know if there was any truth to what the shop was telling me.

You'd have to be pretty tall to peer in someone's alpine windows at their gear in the rear
