The Amigos could mean a wide variety of issues.

I'm in Houston as well and found my well-maintained Disco 2 on craigslist, and I still search it from time to time just to see what's out there.

I have an ABS Amigo (reads ABS codes and clears them), and I can scan the codes for you before you buy a Disco if you're interested. If it's a major issue, you could probably get the price dropped a bit.

I just waited for a one owner truck. I figured anyone who loved their truck enough to keep it shiny and maintained for 100k miles is my kind of owner.

It varies. Diagnosis will run about $70 depending on the shops hourly rates. 3 Amigos could be caused by many things so you'd have to see what the codes are first.

I had 3 Amigos, took it to a shop to have the codes cleared, then all I had to do was wash and scrub the wheels....literally. "Amigo Free" since October 2009!

With patience you will find the right one sooner or later. The problem is that Discos are starting to get old, the 04's which are the newest are already turning 8 years old. It is getting harder and harder to find a one owner or low mileage Disco. As they get older the owners also start to lax on the maintenance and upkeep since it can get expensive.

Thanks for all the tips, and I should add that the seller of the vehicle I posted above mentioned he just spend 2K on repairs (New plugs, wires, and throtlebody heater, among other things) and has all of his service records since he purchased the vehicle at around 35,000 miles (one previous owner). Seems like a real nice, honest guy.

Also, is that bumper a hard thing to fix? Would you pretty much need a whole new bumper? Also, I would to get rid of the grill guard and running boards. Don't really like the way the ones on that Discovery look so maybe I can sell them for a few bucks.

You probably need a new bumper which cost $500-$600. It might be better to just replace it with an after market steel bumper.
