Tire Load Rating/Service Description for Disco?
The Grabbers are only available in 10-ply at that size...what do you run on yours?
I have looked at and considered the Cooper ATR as well...not as much info available on them, but they seem like a decent option.
However, what I really need to know is whether or not I need or should avoid a 10-ply tire...

Most times the 245/75/16 is chosen because its 31" tall and off road its side wall is better so you can air down the tire and still not get a flat.
With a little off roading I would get the lighter tire as it will not cost you in gas or longer braking distance as would the heaver tire.

Does anyone know if I can run the 255/70R16 tire without rubbing? I read in one post that these tires may rub on a Disco, but I do have a 2" OME lift installed on my DII.
After talking to a rep at Tire Rack this morning, I'm reversing course and think I'll be getting the 255/70R16 AT2s. Please let me know if there's something I'm missing or should know before moving forward. Again, I do I have a 2-inch lift on the Disco, and I do not tow (don't even have a hitch on the truck), so I -think- the size and load rating should be fine for me... ??
Hi Andrew - I just got the 255/70-16 Grabber's a few weeks ago. At the time, the suspension was standard and they did not rub at all. Now, I have OME HD springs a shocks and they look awesome. I don't really have a problem with inflation...I run 44 in the back and 40 up front and the ride is great as well as the gas mileage.
Stop thinking about it and get them!!

Just to sure it up........I have a stock 04 Disco II.with BFG 255/70/16 ATs and their great. No rub..Got rid of the 18s about 1.5 yrs ago they at the time had no ats/mts that I found for them......Anyway get'em.....
I just went through the same dilemma. I ended up with the 245/75/16 BFG A/T tires in the load range E variety. Smooth ride and a little extra ground clearance for the trails this summer. A bit worse on the gas mileage around town, but they look good.
