I actually like the look of the disco without all the lift just wanted to run a little bigger tire. Its the same with our g-wagon. I am keeping the stock bumpers and I do no off roading. So I will take your advise and go with the 265/70/18. Sounds like that will keep the look I want without doing any timing etc. Thanks everyone for all the help.

Again: I think you need to do more in-depth study. I don’t see how you are going to use 32.6” tires with 1” lift and keep stock bumpers. How are you getting your lift? 1” spacers and original springs? I would think that 31.5” would be a safer option.

 

Yeah, stock bumper could interfere a little. You may have to trim it a bit. That said, stock bumper looks really nice with some trimming.

 

I guess I'm still confused. I can run 265/65/18 with no lift at all. I was told with the 1 inch lift being done with 1 inch spacers on the springs that i could run a little taller like the 265/70/18.

 

All depends on the coil springs and how much they've sagged. I ran 265/75R16's on my brand new 03 back in the day with zero rubbing on/off road (SE7). Then I bought my 02 Kalahari 3 years ago and it was rubbing with the stock 255/65R16's. When I lifted it 2 inches with a TF Medium lift it actually raised the D2 nearly 4inches from what it was riding at. It settled after a few thousand miles but I was still at around 3.5 taller vs when I bought it.

I think with a good set of springs that haven't sagged and a 1inch aluminum spacer you'd have zero issues with 255/70R18. However with the OEM bumpers I wouldn't go to a 265/70R18-285/65R18 without at least a 2inch aluminum spacer. It will catch on the lower spoiler part of the bumper and it will also destroy the inner splash shields.

I had for a short time period an 02 with a 2inch aluminum spacer lift, and 285/65R18's. I installed the longer turn stops and it didn't rub at all. They weren't aggressive MT's, but it worked without rubbing.

 

Maybe you are right: you may have to try and see. It will be close and may require some trimming. If you need 1” or 1.5” spacers: I have some available.
