Tires with D2 Terrafirma lift Kit
I had already cut my front bumper, but I assume it would have rubbed there. The slider rubbed before I cut it (when turning). Other than that the only place is the bottom of the rear arch. See pic. No evidence of rubbing on the front side of the rear arch.
I think the 2" Terrafirma is almost identical to the 3" OME as far as actual height gained, 265s are a good choice to avoid any trimming. Did you get the tires on yet? How do you like them? Got any pics?
i had measurements somewhere on here i gained 2.25" all around with the lift. I'm getting the tires on this week. I had already trimmed the front bumper for better approach angles. I don't have sliders but I didnt want to start trimming fenders either and am not ready to dump money in for HD shafts and to regear just yet.
I went with JACKSTRAW wheeling when these pictures were taken and I have a 2 inch RTE lift with the same exact tires that he has as well from treadWright 285/75/16 and our trucks pretty much sat identicle in height. We also had the same place of rubbing when we were testing the flex. In my opinion you do not need HD shafts and 4:11's to run these tires. I did not lose that much power at all, If I ended up going with the 265/70/16 I would have definitly been disappointed. The TreadWright tires worked great and took everything we threw at them with no problems. We were both pretty surprise that our trucks were identicle in height with the same shock set up as well. JACKSTRAW would you agree?

I had another thread where i discussed tire size. I was between the 265/75 (not 265/70) and the 285/75 or 305/70. Everyone tore into me saying that 265/75 is the sweet spot for stock trucks and once you get to 32" or above you lose to much power and its time to regear and the stress on the shafts is a bit much. Personally I wont chance it on the trails. so i need to gather money for other things like bumpers and armor and then i will revisit tires after i see how much lower my truck sits with steel bolted to it. for now that 1.2" tire difference that i missing out on will have to do.
I agree with Deucy McPig, but I do understand peoples worry, I am happy with my choice. To each his or her own man. I got the setup I felt confident with. I'm OK with a little power loss (I was surprised at how minimal it was though). Would I like some new gears to regain some power? Yes. But all in good time. I do not fear that there will be any catastrophic failure. I was definitely surprised to see how close the OME 3" and the RTE 2" were in ride height though. Either lift and tire choice is a great setup for sure.
Yeah I can say i had to regear mine after putting on 305/70/16's my speedo would read 55 and my gps was showing 67 it wouldnt of been bad if all I drove was highway and flat but as soon as I would hit a hill it was game over. As far as HD axles I never worried too much about them untill I put lockers in, now with ARB's im definatly going to have to upgrade.
My speedometer reads 6mph slower than my gps (speedo says 65 but gps says 71) and it really isn't that bad up hill. Not sure of the difference between yours and mine, are you in a D1? Maybe that's it.
