Default Tools to remove viscous fan

Well I'm nearly done removing my cylinder heads but I really need to remove the fan I think. I could probably do it with it in but I want to remove the PAS pump and housing to get it out of the way. The Shop manual mentions a couple tools you need to remove the viscous fan that look like long thin wrenches. Can I get these at autozone?

AutoZone wont have the correct size.
You need a big crecent wrench and a hammer, put the wrench on the nut and then wack the handle of the wrench with the hammer to loosen the nut.
You can go to NAPA and buy a Ford? fan clutch removal tool for like $14, I think that it is a 32mm nut on the fan.

I cant figure out when people say "just put the spanner on and wack it"........

What stops the pulley just spinning ? .........didly squat!! No matter how many times I hit mine, it just span the pulley, so I got 3 bits of scrap ali plate, bolted them together into a Y shape, and drilled 2 holes to match the pulley bolts, bolted it on and it holds the pulley whilst you undo the nut on the fan......easy peasy

It is 32mm btw...............If you guys know what that is :P

I have a big crescent wrench but it is too fat to fit in the gap and my next smaller one is too small. Can anyone confirm the size of the nut?

Edit: 32mm confirmed thx.

From searching it sounds like people have had luck with a 36mm wrench of some sort and the nut is reverse threaded.

Thats right, just wack it, worked for me. 2-3 good quick wacks and she broke loose.
I had been trying for a year to get it off the truck, finally a friend did it for me in 2 mins by wacking it.
The pully wont spin because the belt is still on and the wacks are quick so if it does move it aint much.

That depends on if it has reverse threads or not.
I do not know which your truck has.
