OK! I got my Tekonsha P3 brake controller yesterday. All that is left to do is wire it in to the wires that are already installed from the past controller.

I have one more question. Looks like the wire going back to the trailer plug already has an inline fuse (15amp). Would it be wise to splice in an inline fuse thats going to the controller itself?

Thanks!

Tekonsha P3

Power wires... Inline fuse for wire that runs to the trailer plug.

Yes. It would be a good Idea. I would use a 30 or 40a for the charge line and a 15a for the b/c.

OK I got ya. That 15a MIGHT be running to the b/c. Ive just got to look a little closer. I just snapped that pic this morning and did a bit of assuming. Either way I’ll get them both fused. THANKS!!

Got it all wired up. Fuse added to the wire that runs to the trailer plug and severed power wire at the back repaired. We have power!

Yeah i was worried about that but I test fitted it first. Luckily I got plenty of leg room and it’s right within easy reach if I need to apply any extra trailer braking. Plus it’s easily removable. Just snaps out of the bracket and unplugs.
