Trans will not engage intermittently

Went for a drive and the check engine light has come back on. And still have the delay with engaging. Will get the codes read tomorrow.

Had codes read. Trans is clear. engine is O2 codes. Nothing else.
Thinking... It is acting like a "switch" or something is sticking "gummed up" and not releasing all the time.
Any ideas?
