I agree with ZG. You will be swapping out the old transfer case which will involve de-coupling the existing transfer case lever. Might as well do it at the same time. These links will help you to understand the installation process:

I totally agree. Ashcroft have a fantastic reputation for LR transmissions and are reasonably priced. Their rebuilds are properly done and tested.

can you do the R&R?...If so, get used one, they're cheap, if I remember, I got one for under $250...shipped...but, no CDL...though also available cheap...my used box has worked flawlessly for the last yr & 1/2...the R&R is kinda a mess, takes about a day...my best tip: shifter comes out WHOLE...boot and all thru the console...good luck!
