Default Transfer case rebuild?

I was looking at trying to get a tcase with center diff lock. Found one with high mileage (180,000) for cheap. Would it be worth rebuilding it with a rebuild kit or should you avoid high mileage tcases in general?

I haven’t done a t-case yet but I would expect if you rebuilt it, it would be as good as new.

Probably does not need rebuild. Replace o-ring on center shaft and seal with permatex moto seal or high torque silicone and send it.

Oh, you could just swap the nose off the locking tcase in to your 03 tcase. A little easier than changing the entire tcase. But of course you can't change the center shaft seal if you do it that way.
