Default Transmission Fluid

After studpidly checking the transmission fluid while the truck was cold earlier this week and spilling about a quart of transmission fluid I planned on refilling the spilled fluid this morning. After letting the truck idle to warm up and then driving a couple of miles i pulled back in and checked with the truck running I still had fluid running out of the fill hole. It would seem that the last time the fluid was changed too much was put in. Should I be worried about the lost fluid?

You check and or fill it with the engine running.

I know, which is why I asked the question...

Is your truck sitting level, what color is your ATF, crystal red, redish or brownish?
