Default Transmission issue?

hello gents, 03 SE DISCO 114k, this is my 2nd disco owned since 2005 purchased under 50k miles. No real issues, keeps going strong, I addressed the head gasket issue, of course have the three amigos( dash lights), & finally broke down & bought OEM brake pads after 3 yrs of experimenting with different brands w/o success. anyway over past month tranny gives a 1-2 sec hesitation in fwd & reverse usually on cold starts. no issue when warm, & not every single time either. Its a daily driver & i would say 4x a week i get it at random times. I last drained tran fluid 3 yrs ago. No filter change no other service to transmission. Its driving w/o issue, but I wanna get this addressed soon. i dont off road, its 18miles a day round trip for me, no dash lights on except three amigos, check engine very rarley show sits head but my mech told me last yr @ gasket replace that my converter was gettin bad, so I figur eits that. Check engine did come on for about 2 days a week a go, but has since went off. Any ideas? thanks.

At your mileage, you should start servicing the tranny every 20,000 miles. Start with a new filter, do not have it flushed, do a drain and refill along with 1 bottle of Lucas tranny additive and you will probably be OK.

If you are lucky, it will be your governor.
Before doing anything, drain the pan and see what color the fluid is, is it brown and smell burned, if you , you may want to do 2 drain and refills to get rid of all the burned fluid, then add the Lucas.

Change the filter in the transmission and you will be fine.
You need to change your fluid every 30k and the filter every 60k.
Do this and your transmission will last this side of forever.

i would highly doubt a torque converter going toast,,, that is such a rare thing.

swap the filter and the fluid as many times as you need have to get rid of any worn or burned fluid.

this will probably solve your issue

First, how much fluid did you put back in yesterday, did you fill it 2 times for a total of 5 plus quarts, if not you are doing it wrong.
Since you have been running low on fluid, I would do another drain and and refill to get some more of that old burned fluid out of there.
